I would never use an oiled maze type filter when a paper filter is available. Nothing said about fuel consumption or harm to the engine just air. Oil bath cleans the same ( better ) initially as when you finally clean it but as a paper gets more and more plugged it has cleaner air. Less goes thru but what comes out is cleaner. Much like a smaller screen in your sprayer. Which cleans better a clean air filter or a dirty one? Answer dirty it's plugged up. If so we will convert them over to paper elements, there were several opinions around here. The question was brought up if they are less effecitve than the paper element filters in dusty, dirty conditions. We have a couple c60's that have the oil bath air cleaners on them.
